Enough!

"iDeserta!Desert!" This is the whispering heard in the streets, it is the sound coming out of the corridors of offices and public agencies, it is the rattling blasting from speakers in factories and thought machines. Refuse, stay clear, stay at home, remain where you are. The BUKO 35, taking place from the 9. till the 12. of May 2013 in Munich, Germany, is an invitation to a collective removal, derailing and back pedalling. Opting out mean for us wanting something different. But how is one supposed to develop alternatives in the face of multiple crises, global exploitation, bellicose normality and apparently indestructible power networks. There are always new wars, like the one in Mali or Syria.

Landgrabbing and resource predation are again on the agenda, while worldwide the gap between the rich and poor is widening. And despite multifaceted protests there is no fundamental shift in the neoliberal hegemony in sight. Opting out and simultaneously referring to a better life - this is what many people worldwide are doing under the most difficult conditions.?J?en ai marre!?. (I had enough) is the slogan of the grassroots movements in Senegal. ?Nem tetszik a rendszer? ( I don't like the system) are the lyrics of the Hungarian protest song against the Orban regime.

At the end of 2012 40.000 Zapatistas Chiapas did herald an new offensive with a silent march." Did you hear that? It is the sound of your world that is falling apart." which is the slogan. iDeserta! refuse/resist/revolt. We broaden the meaning of the unauthorised stay away from the troops and ask: Where can we resist and how can it give way to a collective protest movement? With us you can not create nation states, hold up flags, go to war, defend borders, define the in- or outside. In the spirit of this, we invite you to the BUKO 35 to leave well trodden paths and fish in uncharted waters.
