Zwischen Stadt und Peripherie. Zur Notwendigkeit einer urbanen Basisbewegung (Creciente Popular in Bogota-Kolumbien)

The Necessity of an Urban Basic Movement

An activist of the Columbian platform of urban grassroots movement Creciente Popular will speak about her work. The platform Creciente Popular is working with young people from Bogotá and aims to network with different rural initiatives. Their focus lies on territory, city, social movement, grassroots work in the field of communication, education, economy and culture. Urban-rural regions, the relationship between the regions around Bogotá and which are dependent on Bogotá for their work and Bogotá itself are the central concept. This relationship is influenced by capitalist, unequal economic relations.

The workshop will provide an introduction to the Columbian context and the accumulation model. Bogotá's characteristics, its sphere of influence and the processes of urbanisation will be explained. The current Latin American city is based on the exploitation of natural and human resources. This model can only be contradictory and be based on a regulatory policy, under which the right to the city for displaced people and poor sectors is systematically denied.

Eine Aktivistin von der kolumbianischen Plattform der Stadtteilbasisbewegung Creciente Popular wird über ihre Arbeit berichten. Creciente Popular arbeitet mit Jugendlichen aus Bogotá und hat die Vernetzung mit unterschiedlichen ländlichen Initiativen zum Ziel. Themen ihrer Arbeit sind Territorium, Stadt, soziale Bewegung, Basisarbeit u.a. in den verschiedenen Bereiche wie Kommunikation, Bildung, solidarische Ökonomie und Kultur. Die Beziehung zwischen den Regionen, die Bogotá umgeben und welche von einer Arbeit in Bogotá abhängig sind und Bogotá selbst ist Thema dieses Workshops. Diese Beziehung ist geprägt von kapitalistischen, ungleichen ökonomischen Verhältnisse.

Der Vortrags wird erst mal eine Einführung in den kolumbianischen Kontext sein. Dann werden die Merkmale von Bogotá, den umliegenden Gebiete und der Urbanisierungsprozess erläutert. Die aktuelle lateinamerikanische Stadt ist auf Ausbeutung der natürlichen und menschliche Ressourcen aufgebaut. Dieses Modell kann nur Widersprüche haben und eine kapitalistische räumliche Ordnungspolitik, in der das Recht auf Stadt für Vertriebene und arme Sektoren systematisch verweigert wird.
